Why HDMEx exists.
HDMEx was imagined in June 2025 by two friends, sharing the same concern: what happens when communication can no longer be trusted, or when it disappears entirely? Since then, the project has been moving forward slowly, between France and Switzerland, where we live, work, and regularly engage with foundations aligned with our values.
HDMEx is not just a technical project. It is a philosophy of life, a reason for being. We believe privacy is not optional, that access to information should not depend on centralized infrastructure, and that Internet shutdowns have become a tool of control. We have seen this in Iran, in parts of Africa, and elsewhere: when connectivity disappears, organization collapses. Satellite solutions are not sufficient, especially in the presence of jamming and political pressure.
Our response is not to add more servers or build larger data centers. It is to rely on a human network. HDMEx uses movements that already exist: trains, cars, bicycles, daily commutes. Similar to carpooling, but for encrypted files, payments, and local information. By reusing human mobility instead of constructing heavy infrastructure, we aim for a more sober, ecological, and resilient system.
This approach is also embodied in our emblem: the chameleon. A discreet organism, able to adapt to its environment, blend into its surroundings, and act without drawing attention. Its strength lies neither in dominance nor speed, but in its ability to endure, survive, and remain effective when conditions become hostile. HDMEx follows the same logic: present without being visible, functional without relying on a central point, adaptive rather than imposing. Stealthy and effective, we will be.
We consciously chose to remain in the background. This is not secrecy for its own sake, nor a marketing strategy, but a coherent extension of HDMEx's ideology. The product comes first. Communication will mainly take place through the future internal HDMEx chat and on X, but development always remains the priority.
We know intimidation is part of the risks, and we accept it. A network carried by humans, distributed by design, cannot be shut down politically or physically. This human resilience is exactly what we aim to strengthen, without reliance on a central authority or control point.
Today, we are building a prototype that brings together the web app, the native blockchain, and the first communication layers. We do not promise speed. We promise to move forward, to build properly, and to see it through. HDMEx is an ambitious project, and ambition requires time, discipline, and patience.
The number 7 holds a special place in our approach. Present across many cultures, it symbolizes cycles, balance, and continuity. 777 is not a mystical reference, but a way to express layered construction, iterative progress, and alignment over time. Within HDMEx, this symbolism is reflected in our rhythms, our structures, and our approach to progress: not rushed, not linear, but coherent and durable.
Progress will be made visible gradually through the website, the roadmap, and the notes. For now, the best way to follow HDMEx is simply to stay attentive.
